The Capão Valley is a village located in Chapada Diamantina, Caeté-Açu district, municipality of Palmeiras, Bahia, Brasil.
Here are some tips on how to get the enchanted valley:
From the bus station of Salvador, take a bus to Palmeiras with Real Expresso company (it's the only one that makes this path). The values and the bus departure times are at: http://www.realexpresso.com.br You can also buy tickets by phone +55 71 3450.2991, with a credit card.
This journey takes on average six hours, so we advise taking the night bus so you can sleep on the trip and arrive in Palmeiras along with the sunrise, around 5:30 am. At Palmeiras bus station there will be vans that will lead you directly to the Vale do Capão. It's just 50 minutes drive.
The gathering will be based in the Terra Viva Space, 6 km from the village, in the bottom of the valley. There will be a sign pointing the way.
If you have the option of going by car, check the googlemaps the best way from where you are to Caeté-Açú, near Palmeiras, Bahia.
How to get
From Palmeiras there are signs pointing the direction to Vale do Capão. The gathering will be based in the Ecovillage Terra Viva, 6 km from the village, in the bottom of the valley. There will be a sign pointing the way.
The participants that only are doing the Pati phase, there will be a meeting point at Ecovillage Terra Viva, Vale do Capão, at 15th of January.
The best option for those who come by plane is to arrive in Lençóis, a town in the Chapada, near by Vale do Capão. (Regular flights to the Horácio de Matos Airport by the Azul Airlines on Thursdays and Sundays. http://www.voeazul.com.br/). From Lençóis you will find a bus every day going to Capão.
Sometimes it can be most economic to arrive in Salvador. From the airport, take a taxi to the bus station, a motorcycle-taxi or even a bus.
From the Salvador bus station, take a bus to Palmeiras and from there to the Vale do Capão.
